Leave of Absence

All members must fill out a Leave of Absence form prior to the anticipated leave, if possible. In the event of any leave of absence, a member may choose to attend practices and events optionally and voluntarily. Members on leave wishing to skate during practices will be subject to our $5.00 "pay-to-play" fee each practice. A member who achieves 0% attendance in any given month, with no official LOA submitted or communication made with league officers, will be considered ‘washed out’ and removed from all rosters.

Short-Term Leave

Defined as missing 3-6 weeks of practice. Full dues are required for the duration of short-term leave and voting rights will be retained. A safety and skill assessment may be required upon return at the discretion of the coaching staff.

Long-Term Leave

Defined as missing 6 or more weeks of practice. Members are not required to pay dues for the duration of a long-term leave; however, all voting rights will be suspended until the member returns to active status. Upon return from a long-term leave, all members are required to follow the “Return-to-Play” protocol.

Injury

Skaters on leave due to injury, whether short term or long term, will need to follow a return to play protocol.

Pregnancy

Skaters who believe they may be, or have tested positive for pregnancy, are expected to communicate this information to league officers immediately. For safety, pregnant skaters will not be allowed to participate in any on-skate bouts, practices, appearances, or any type of event where the Root River Rollers are being represented on-skates. A long-term leave will begin as soon as the information is received by a member of the Executive Board of Directors.
