This is a closed committee. If you are interested in joining this committee, we ask that you contact BOTH the Director AND Coaches with your reasons for wanting to join, qualifications, experience, or any other relative information they can use to make the decision. Develop and maintain practice structure for both Fresh Meat and Vet League practices.
Ordering ChaosDevelop and maintain practice structure for both Fresh Meat and Vet League practices.
Develop off-skate and off-day training for all members.
Smooth Running
Run structured practices, including both standard, and make-up practices.
Work with team captain(s) on rills/practice structure.
Keep track of member skill levels and progression.

The Bout Production committee is responsible for every detail of home bout production from facility rental to beverage sales and everything in between. The league President will preside over this committee. The Bout Production committee will spread out and assign tasks to all league members prior to the bout date.

Markets the league as a whole and promotes all league events, fundraisers, recruitment events, appearances, outings, etc.
Keep Us Active
Maintains the league's social media accounts with fresh content in stories, posts, and reels/videos.
Distribute promotional materials: flyers, posters, business cards, newsletters, etc.
Make Us Pretty
Create and manage all branding and design work for the team: promotional materials, website updates, online merch, etc.
Keep the Party Going
Respond to messages and comments, interact with new interested members, promote Fresh Meat Boot Camp and other recruitment events
Find ways to add recruitment information to all events.

The Athletics/Scheduling committee will be responsible for securing scrimmage and bouting opportunities for the Root River Rollers.
Undercover Work
Research available teams for bout/scrimmage through previous contacts or Facebook groups such as Midwest Derby.
Work with Coaches to determine levels of play and availability
Making Magic
Communicate with the EBOD on bouts and dates
Work with Bout Production on Home game scheduling
Work with the VP to coordinate dates with Home Bout location and secure other practice facilities in the event Home location is unavailable.

Merchandise + Facilities ensure we have all of our ducks in a row for practice, bouts, and events.
Organize the Closet
Creating and maintaining inventory of all league possessions including, but not limited to, gear, banners, signs, equipment, and merchandise for sale.
Create and submit purchase requests for merch options and team orders (shirts, jerseys etc.)
Staff and maintain merch sales at events. Including pre and post event inventory and reconciling sales with the treasurer.Maintenance of our skating facility and the equipment owned by the Root River Rollers.
Keeping the storage unit organized and maintaining inventory.
Toy Bin Maintenance
Research merch costs and seek out lowest costs possible while maintaining quality.
Assure that all necessary items are present at events/practices/ appearances as needed.
Working with the Treasurer to determine if new equipment needs to be purchased.

The Sponsorship committee is responsible for actively recruiting sponsors for the Root River Rollers. Fund-raising is essential to the financial success of the RRR. Funds raised support travel, home bout execution, uniform subsidies and general operations.
Local Love
Reach out to local/area businesses to offer sponsorship opportunities.
Maintain communication with sponsors to ensure all obligations are being met the sponsor and the league.
Work with Marketing committee to ensure sponsor information is included in marketing materials (calendar, social posts, bout programs, etc.)
Love Everyone
Annual Fundraiser(s): Find and contract location(s) then develop fundraiser theme and work with other committees to create materials, communications, raffle prizes, baskets

Officials and NSOs are the backbone of bouts, without them skaters cannot do what they do best.
Become The Best
Study and become knowledgeable in the ruleset(s) used by the RRR
Learn, study and become knowledgeable with WFTDA penalty calls, hand signals and penalty acronyms according to the WFTDA
Create drills, tests, flash cards, etc for training purposes
Do the Deed
Recruit referees, NSOs, and volunteers for bout production
Participate in (for training purposes) the officiating of scrimmages and practice drills
Track and maintain track materials including ropes, tape, etc. assure these materials are present when needed
Track and maintain needs such as white boards, markers, timers, whistles, or any other items needed during bouts/scrimmages.
Research and locate NSO / Officiating volunteer opportunities for members to participate in.

The safety/WFTDA committee will be responsible for the establishment of the rules and guidelines to ensure the safety of our members and to stay current on WFTDA changes and guidelines.
Safety First
Establish and maintain RRR return to play protocol.
Maintain RRR safety equipment, first aid kits and emergency contact lists
Contract needed safety staff for bouts and scrimmages
Stay current on WFTDA changes
Work with Fresh Meat coach to update RRR minimum skills testing expectations
Verify WFTDA Insurance coverage for all skaters and coordinate with individual skaters on their WFTDI status

The Sunshine and Rainbows committee will help create team morale by ensuring all members feel welcomed and respected.
Just Be Chill + Awesome
Act as the welcome wagon by welcoming new members, answering questions, getting paperwork to new members, etc.
Reach out to non-active members to encourage practice and event participation.
Organize support for and recognize members’ major life events (i.e. births, deaths, birthdays etc.)
Order flowers/show support for injured members.

Give Back
Organize and facilitate donation drives to various local organizations.
Create a database of charities and track who we have volunteered for, donated to, and worked with.Learn more about local charities and organizations. Determine if their mission is in line with ours and discover ways we can help them.
Create ways to use our events, promotions, appearances, etc to help local charities.
Create proposals for specific organizations to receive profits from bouts to present to the EBOD.
